Daytime-only mean data enhance understanding of land–atmosphere coupling

چکیده

Abstract. Land–atmosphere (L–A) interactions encompass the co-evolution of land surface and overlying planetary boundary layer, primarily during daylight hours. However, many studies have been conducted using monthly or entire-day mean time series due to lack subdaily data. It is unclear whether inclusion nighttime data alters assessment L–A coupling obscures interactive processes. To address this question, we generate (M), (E), daytime-only (D) based on ERA5 (5th European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts reanalysis) product evaluate strength through two-legged metrics, which partition impact states fluxes (the leg) from atmospheric leg). Here show that spatial patterns strong regions among M-, D-, E-based diagnoses can differ by more than 80 %. Regarding model outputs, two approaches are proposed resolve storage dilemma data: (1) integration metrics within Earth system models, (2) producing alternative daily datasets different

The role of mean inspiratory effort on daytime sleepiness.

This study has investigated the role of average maximum inspiratory effort in excessive daytime sleepiness in patients with obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome (OSAS) and upper airway resistance syndrome (UARS). Fifteen patients diagnosed with UARS and 32 patients with OSAS, with >5.5 h total sleep time (TST) during 8 h of nocturnal polygraphic recordings, were included in the study. Demographica...

Daytime Fire Detection Using Airborne Hyperspectral Data

The shortwave infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum, covering wavelengths from 1400 to 2500 nm, can include significant emitted radiance from fire. There have been relatively few evaluations of the utility of shortwave infrared remote sensing data, and in particular hyperspectral remote sensing data, for fire detection. We used an Airborne Visible InfraRed Imaging Spectrometer (AVIRIS...

An Intelligent System’s Approach for Revitalization of Brown Fields using only Production Rate Data

State-of-the-art data analysis in production allows engineers to characterize reservoirs using production data. This saves companies large sums that should otherwise be spend on well testing and reservoir simulation and modeling. There are two shortcomings with today’s production data analysis: It needs bottom-hole or well-head pressure data in addition to data for rating reservoirs’ characteri...

Output-only Modal Analysis of a Beam Via Frequency Domain Decomposition Method Using Noisy Data

The output data from a structure is the building block for output-only modal analysis. The structure response in the output data, however, is usually contaminated with noise. Naturally, the success of output-only methods in determining the modal parameters of a structure depends on noise level. In this paper, the possibility and accuracy of identifying the modal parameters of a simply supported...
